Official Match Rules

Lobby Set Up

  • All games will have anonymous mode on and will have aim assist override on. Console will play at .4 aim assist.

LOBBY RULES​

  • All players are required to use the IGN that they provided during the registration process for all matches of that -tournament and/or series. Staff must be notified of any name changes and may face point deductions or be removed from matches should they fail to do so.
  • The unique code(s) to join the appropriate online tournament match in the Game will be posted on the Tournament Site.
  • Teams must check-in on the Tournament Site ahead of the scheduled start time. Teams will be entered into the lobbies on a first come, first serve based on check-in time.
  • The unique code(s) to join the appropriate online tournament match in the Game will be posted in the Challengermode Chat on the Tournament Page where you signed up. There will be unique codes for each match.​ Directions on how to get there are posted in the Discord at #how-to-join-match
  • Competitors that stream their matches may not display the code on their stream and if found to have shared the code and may be subject to penalties, and/or banned from the tournament or series.
  • Prior to the start of each match, the Team Captain is required to enter the Team name in the custom in-Game lobby for each match. The Team name provided in the lobby must match the Team name provided during registration on the Tournament Site.
  • Competitors are required to be present in the in-Game match lobby at the scheduled start time for each match detailed in the tournament schedule in order to participate in that match.
  • Matches may be started at the scheduled start time without all Competitors or Teams present. Teams who fail to arrive on time may face penalties up to and including point deductions, suspensions, and tournament bans if the behavior is habitual. Competitors or Teams that miss a match may join the next match in the round unless superseded by a waitlist team, if applicable. (Ex: Scrims)
  • Matches will continue if players disconnect or fail to load into the Game.
  • If a player disconnects from a match, they may attempt to rejoin the match using the in-Game reconnect feature.
  • If 20% or more of the lobby do not load into the game, then the game will be restarted. (12 Players, 4 teams in a 60 player, 20 team lobby).

​STREAMING

  • Streaming is not required, but is highly reccommended.
  • Competitors that choose to stream their matches must utilize a minimum five (5) minute delay.
  • All Teams must ensure their player streams set VODs to save automatically on Twitch for review in case of any necessary investigation into rule violations. Deleted VODs will qualify as a rule violation.
  • All streams must have Phase One Esports in the title.
  • Any competitor that is reported for stream sniping will be investigated and may be subject to a permanent ban from all Phase One Tournaments.

​SPECTATE REQUEST

  • Teams hoping to gain access to a spectator slot for official streams must abide the following:
  • The Spectator may not look at any other teams besides their team.
  • Spectator PC / Console must be kept in a separate room / out of line of sight of the players.
  • Spectator isn't permitted to speak to the team at all until all matches are completed.
  • At least one player POV must be recorded / streamed as well.
  • The Stream abides by all other streaming guidelines.

In Match Rules

  • Competitors may not leave the normal boundaries of a map in a way that does not activate an “out-of-bounds” timer or other exploit that results in the Competitor being able to remain outside of the circle (in the orange) without taking damage.
  • Competitors may not exploit a Game mechanic to enter and exit the in-Game “out-of-bounds” kill timer consecutively in the same area.
  • Examples of this include repeatedly using a zipline, grapple, portal, balloon, or other character ability to repeatedly enter the same area that activates the “out-of-bounds” timer
  • Competitors may not leave a tournament in-between games or matches without speaking to a Staff Member first. Teams that fail to communicate with a Staff Member may be subject to penalties
  • While a match is in progress, the only permissible communication is communication between the three (3) Competitors who are actively participating in the match on the same Team. (No Coaches Allowed)
  • Competitors may not utilize any third party applications or programs that may impact gameplay or give them an advantage over other Competitors.
  • Competitors may not use any Game-changing scripts or programs. Any competitor found to utilize Game-changing scripts may face penalties up to and including point deductions, player suspensions, and tournament bans.
  • Competitors may use a keyboard and mouse, a PlayStation controller, or an Xbox controller when competing in this event.
  • Competitors may not utilize macro functions on any input device.​
  • Competitors may not utilize macros or scripts that result in actions, either in a series or simultaneously, to be executed in the game.
  • Competitors may not utilize any physical devices (ex: Strike Packs) in addition to their input device to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Competitors must use the same input device for the entirety of a match series. Competitors may switch input devices prior to the start of their next series.
  • Competitors who elect to change their input device must inform a Staff Member that they have done so, and what their new input device is.​
  • The following items have been altered from default in-Game match settings:
  • Heat Shields are removed.

Other

  • All competitors must join our discord.
  • During a match series, any communication between Competitors on different Teams are required to go through the Official Phase One Discord server or in-Game match lobby.
  • Competitors may not intentionally delay the start of a match for any reason.
  • Competitors may not intentionally disconnect from a game or match and may be subject to penalties, and/or banned from the tournament or series.
  • Competitors are responsible for their equipment and network connection throughout the tournament.

Placement Points​

  • 1st: 12 Points -2nd: 9 Points
  • 3rd: 7 Points
  • 4th: 5 Points
  • 5th: 4 Points
  • 6th - 7th: 3 Points
  • 8th - 10th: 2 Points
  • 11th - 15th: 1 Point
  • 16th - 20th: 0 Points

Kill Points

  • 1 Point for Each Kill​ ​ Ties/Tiebreaker
  • If two teams tie in points, the team with the most kills wins.
  • If both teams have the same amount of kills, then it will go to the average placement.
  • If the average placement is the same, then it will go to the team with the highest placement in one game

Disputes

  • To make sure we don't make a mistake on tallying the scores, please screenshot your kills and placements, or clip it and send it to us through our discord. This isn't really needed since we pull from the games API but sometimes we may have a mistake in our formulas.
