RULES

REGISTRATION
- Each team captain will need to check-in their team between 6:15 PM EST and 6:45 PM EST on the day of the tournament
- Every team that doesn't complete the check-in by 6:45 PM EST will automatically be disqualified from the tournament
- The brackets will be randomly seeded, generated and published by or before 7 PM EST
- Team captains will need to join Valorant Québec's Discord server:https://discord.gg/srDRSNqWWW and be present during the captain's meeting, at 6:15 PM EST. The meeting is mandatory for every captain as valuable information about the tournament will be given. Each team captain should contact an admin member if he or she is not invited to the captains' Discord channel.
TEAM COMPOSITION
- Every team must be composed of at least 5 eligible players.
- Each roster will be allowed to have one (1) additional player as a substitute.
- Once the brackets are out, the teams won't be able to change their composition. Special exceptions can be made under circumstance deemed reasonable by the tournament admins. This decision will not be subject to debate and will be final.
- No player, including the substitute player, can be registered in two different rosters participating in a single King of the Spike tournament. Any such players will be banned from the tournament and the affected teams will be forced to use a pre-registered substitute player, forfeit the game, or compete 4v5, as the case may be.
LOBBY CREATION
Both teams must mark themselves as READY in the ChallengerMode lobby, once available. This will permit the teams to report the scores after the game has been played.
The higher seeded team (i.e., the team that is vertically higher on the bracket page) will create the custom lobby within Valorant and will invite the opposite team captain via “Riot ID” using the Valorant platform. The Riot IDs of players will be displayed and accessible on the Challengermode platform, within the applicable game lobby. Each team captain will then invite their respective players to the in-game lobby. Custom lobby settings will be set to “Tournament Mode” with +2 overtime settings. Servers shall be selected based on lowest average ping (with the least discrepancy) for both teams. If both teams formally agree to play on another server then they can do so. Both teams should be in the in-game Valorant lobby and ready with 5 players within 5 minutes after the Challengermode lobby has been created and initiated.
If you are the inviting team (top seed) and no players from the opposite team have connected by 5 minutes following the creation and initiation of the Challengermode lobby, please report it to the admin team either via Discord or within the Challengermode platform. Similarly, for the opposite team, if you are supposed to be invited and you are not receiving an invitation by 5 minutes following the creation and initiation of the Challengermode lobby, please report it to the admin team via Discord or within the Challengermode platform.
All players must be in the in-game Valorant lobby at the very latest by 10 minutes past the scheduled match time. If there are players missing after this time limit, the team with all members can take a screenshot and report results (i.e., 13-0 forfeit win).
If the match is to be casted, the captain of the higher seeded team will be contacted via Discord or on the Challengermode platform by the tournament admins and/or casters prior to the scheduled match time. The top seed captain will invite the appropriate admins and/or casters via “Riot ID” using the Valorant platform, which Riot IDs will be communicated through the Discord or Challengermode platform.
MAP POOL AND VETOES
Map Pool
- Ascent
- Bind
- Breeze
- Haven
- Split
- Icebox
Map Vetoes will be done in the in-game chat of each Valorant game lobby, and will proceed as follows:
- Top seed: bans 1 map
- Low seed: bans 1 map
- Top seed: bans 1 map
- Low seed: bans 1 map
- Top seed: bans 1 map
- Low seed: picks side (attack or defense).
SCORE REPORTING
- Score reporting will be available 5 minutes after the start of each match.
- After the match has ended, the captains of each team are required to log into the Challengermode platform and report or approve the appropriate match score.
- You will be able to use the dispute feature on Challengermode to contact admins. A score dispute will automatically be flagged to admins if the two team captains report scores that do not match.
- A score will automatically be approved by the platform after 5 minutes of it being reported by one team if no action is taking by the opposing team.
- If neither team submits a score at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for the following tournament round, and if neither team captain can be reached by admins via Discord or the Challengermode platform, both teams will be marked as forfeiting the game, so as to not unduly delay the progress of the overall tournament.
PROHIBITION OF EXPLOITS
- Valorant has some bugs, exploits and glitches. Some of these are being hot fixed routinely. Most of these exploits pertain to certain agents. All agents and maps will be available, except for Skye and Icebox. The intentional use of any exploits may result in the disqualification of the team in question.
TIMEOUTS AND DISCONNECTS
- Timeouts should only be used for technical difficulties and disconnects during the start of the round (buy phase), or if otherwise requested or approved by a tournament admin.
STREAMING
- Players are free to live stream the event. They will be required to have their streams muted during Discord conversations with admins including the captains meeting before the tournament begins.
- Players streaming the event will be required to use at least a 60-second delay for the sake of competitive integrity. Stream sniping will be at each player’s own risk.
- Valorant tournament organizers must toggle off the "show blood" and "show bodies" setting, per Riot guidelines.
COMMUNICATION WITH TOURNAMENT ADMINS
- Teams must register on Challengermode.com with at least a 5 eligible player roster. Challengermode will be used for bracketing, match assignment, score reporting and disputes.
- Support channels will be set up on Valorant Québec’ Discord server. The main form of communication should be the Discord server or Challengermode platform's embedded chat and automatic match assignment system.
- Each team captain will need to be available within the Discord support text channel in-case of any communications that need to be relayed quickly (the player in question does not have to be in a voice channel, but they must idle within the server).
- If a team captain cannot be contacted on Discord or via the Challengermode platform in a timely manner, admins are free to proceed as they see fit in order to not unduly delay tournament progress.
